Azúcar?

El otro día vinieron unas amigas a casa a tomar café y había visto por Internet que la gente hace formas con el azúcar así que pensé que sería una buena idea para sorprender a mis amigas. Realmente no hace falta poner ni materiales ni como se hace pero por si acaso...

My friends came to my house to have a coffee. I had seen on Internet that people make sugar shapes so I thought it would be a good idea to surprise them.  I think that there's no need of an explanation but just in case...

Coges un poco de azúcar y le añades unas gotas de agua, tiene que estar terroso.
Add a few drops of water to the sugar, it gets the consistency of wet sand.

Lo metes en tu cubitera
Fill the ice tray with the sugar mixture


Esperas unas horas (yo como no estaba segura de cuantas esperé 24 h pero no sé si se podrá desmoldar antes)
Wait a few hours (I waited 24 h but maybe you can wait less)

Desmolda tus terrones
Pop your sugar lumps out

Sorprende a tus amigas
Surprise you friends

Fácil, no?
Easy peasy

Gatos

A mi tía le encantan los gatos (tiene dos) así que como su cumpleaños es en un par de semanas le he hecho esta tarjeta con gatos que espero que le guste!

Los materiales que he utilizado son:

Cartulina blanca

Papeles de la colección Madeline de Prima Marketing

Distress Ink faded jeans

Hilo de bordar (rojo y  blanco)

Adhesivos de espuma

Rotulador de gel blanco

Lápiz negro acuarelable

Y he utilizado la imagen del final del post que encontré en Internet para los gatos y el césped

My aunt loves cats (she has two) so since in a couple of weeks will be her birthday I've made her this card with cats, I hope she likes it!

Here are the supplies I've used:

White cardstock

Papers from Madeline collection by Prima Marketing

Distress Ink faded jeans

Embroidery floss (red and white)

Dimensional adhesives

White gel pen

Black watercolor pencil

And I've used the image at the end of the post that I found on Internet for the cats and the lawn

Figura africana

Hace un tiempo  me atreví con esta figura que vi en la web de Utilisima. Me pareció muy decorativa y fácil de hacer así que me puse manos a la obra y este es el resultado.
No pongo la lista de materiales y el modo de hacerlo porque está perfectamente explicado en el enlace de Utilisima.

Some time ago I saw this figure on Utilisma web. I think it's very decorative and easy to make so I got down to work and this is how it turned out.
You have the supplies and the how to on the web in spanish. 


Supplies:
A piece of wood 8 x 8 cm and 2 cm thick
1.50 m of aluminum wire
Cardboard roll 20 cm long and 5 cm diameter (I used a kitchen roll)
Newspaper
Masking tape
Two-component putty, clay...
White cotton cloth
White glue
Acrylic paint: chocolate brown, orange, beige

How to:

1. Make a hole in the center of the piece of wood. Shape the wire to form the body, arms and head.

2. Cut along the cardboard roll, wrap the part of the wire that forms the body with the newspaper to give it volume. Put it into the cardboard  roll. With masking tape, strengthen it.

3. Pass the wire through the hole of the wood and fix it with the putty. Model the arms, neck and head, adding clay on the wire. Model the baby.  Leave until it's completely dry.

4. Soak the cotton cloth  in white glue, to make the dress tunic, turban and the kanga (cloth used to carry babies especially in East Africa). 

5. "Dress" the body with the cloth. Let it dry.

6. Paint with  chocolate brown  the skin and clothing with orange. Leave white the turban and the kanga. 

You can add accesories like pots, bowls, earrings...

Cuadro infantil

Hola!

Este es un cuadro que hice para mi sobrina, sí la misma para la que hice esta lámpara y la que se quedó la tarjeta de S. Valentín, es lo que tiene tener sólo una sobrina que todo es para ella... 

Bueno, el caso es que le encantan las jirafas así que un día vi un cuadro en una tienda y digamos que me copié inspiré. Y este es el resultado. Cuando se lo enseñé a mi madre me dijo: 'Es muy mono el niño con el gorrito raro...' Niño con el gorrito raro??? Horror! Ahora ya sólo veía al niño cada vez que miraba el cuadro!! 

Afortunadamente cuando se lo di a mi sobrina y le pregunté que veía me dijo con cara de no saber por qué le preguntaba algo tan tonto: 'Una jirafa!' Uff!! Menos mal! Ahora sé que mi técnica pictórica es para niñas de 4 años...

Hello!

This is a painting I made for my niece, yep, the same one I made this lamp for and the one who kept my Valentine's Card, this is what happens when you have just one niece... 

Well, she loves giraffes, one day I was window shopping when I saw this painting, so I copied it was really inspired by it. And this is how it turned out. When I showed it to my mom she said: 'Oh  the boy with the funny hat is really cute ...' the boy with the funny hat??? OMG! Now each time I looked at the painting I saw the boy!! 

Luckily when I gave it to my niece and I asked her what the drawing was, she gave me a puzzled look and said: 'A giraffe!' Thank goodness! Now I know that my painting technique is for 4 years old girls...

Feliz cumpleaños Clara!

El próximo miércoles es el cumpleaños de la mejor amiga de mi madre, es una persona realmente especial, no ha tenido mucha suerte en la vida pero siempre tiene una sonrisa en la cara e  intenta hacernos la vida más fácil, además le encantan los cupcakes así que le he hecho esta tarjeta de cumpleaños y espero que le guste!

He utilizado los sellos Sweet Pea Cupacake Birthday stamps y Stampavie Mo Manning Fairy Lee (gracias Holley de Holley's Blog y Shelby de Color of Happy!) . He combinado técnicas, el cupcake del centro está coloreado con lápices acuarelables y los otros dos están hechos con trozos de papel, de las colecciones de Pinkpaislee Hometown summer y Enchanting y uno de una bolsa de una tienda que me parecía muy chulo. La base para los cupckes la he dibujado, y cosí una línea de punto de cruz para añadirle interés. La base, las velas y las estrellas del cupcake están destacadas con Glossy Accent.

Next Wednesday is the birthday of my mom's best friend, she's a really special person, she hasn't had much luck in life but she's always smiling and trying to make our lives better, and she loves cupcakes so I made this Birthday card for her, I hope she likes it!

I've used the  Sweet Pea Cupacake Birthday stamps and Stampavie Mo Manning Fairy Lee (thanks to Holley from Holley's Blog and Shelby from Color of Happy!) I've combined different techniques, I colored the cupcake in the middle with watercolor pencils and for the other two I made some paper piecing with the Pinkpaislee Hometown summer and Enchanting collections and one piece of a paper bag that I love. I draw the cupcake stand, and added the stitching to add some interest. I put some Glossy Accent on the stand, the candles and the stars.

Bolas de café

Aunque parece que la moda de las bolas decorativas ya pasó, a mí me siguen encantando así que he hecho estas con granos de café y me han quedado así de chulas y además dejan un aroma a café delicioso!.

Los materiales que se necesitan son:
Bolas de corcho blanco
Pintura marrón
Cola blanca
Granos de café

La forma de hacerlas no creo que requiera mucha explicación...
Pintáis las bolas de marrón para que no se vea el fondo blanco
Vais poniendo la cola y situando los granos de café, alternando la dirección cada fila que hagáis.
Y ya está! Fácil, barato y rápido, me ENCANTA!!

Although decorative balls seem a bit out at the moment, I still love them so I made these two with coffee beans, they turned out great and they smell really good!.


Here are the supplies:
Styrofoam balls
Brown paint
Glue
Coffee beans 


The 'how to' doesn't need much explanation...
Paint the balls with the brown paint to avoid the white spaces
Start gluing the beans, you have to alternate the direction of the beans each row.
And that's it! Easy, cheap and fast, I LOVE it!
